Trail description: A 25 km rail trail runs from Cranbrook, east to Kimberley along the rail bed of the Canadian Pacific railway. The trail will be a section of the Trans Canada Trail. Intended for self-propelled recreation only, the trail officially opens in Fall, 2010. Trail fee: No charge Towns along the trail: Cranbrook (pop 19,000), Wycliffe, Kimberley (pop. 6,500) Trail surface: Paved surface Designated activities: Bicycling, walking, inline skating, cross-country skiing Bike shops: Poser Sports in the platzl, Kimberley. Weather forecast: Kimberley Getting to the trail: The trail can be accessed in Kimberley at the junction of Rotary Drive and Archibald Street across from the Civic Centre. Downhill/Freeride trails

Local bike retailer Poser Sports offers shuttles up to the trails located just outside of Kimberley at Bootleg Mountain.  Check Poser's website for details.  There are also lift access mountain bike trails at the Kimberley Alpine Resort.  

Cross Country trails

The Kimberley Nature Park is a 2000 hectare park located within the City of Kimberley city limits.  There is a great network of single track cross country trails with excellent climbs and fast downhill trails.  Visit the Kimberley Nature Park website for details.
