The North Star Rails to Trails development (Kimberley to Cranbrook), the Platzl to Peak trail (Resort area to Downtown Kimberley) and the newest Magic Line mountain bike trail network (visit our Mountain Biking page) in the Nordic area are sure to offer great enjoyment for all users.

Completed for the Summer of 2011, this 25 km long, $4 million dollar, paved trail offers an incredible adventure for bikers/hikers of all levels. The rail grade makes for a very leisurely climb and the scenery is spectacular. Ride the 10 km section from Kimberley to Marysville, or go all the way to and from Cranbrook. Truly an incredible trail for all to enjoy. Bike rentals available at Poser Sports, located in the Kimberley Platzl.

The Sullivan Mine - Kimberley's reason for existence. This mining and engineering phenomenon can be experienced with a ride on Kimberley's underground mining railway. See actual miners at work - bring your earplugs! This tour offers an excellent understanding of the size and complexity of the Sullivan Mine, and of the roots and foundation of the City of Kimberley.

Kimberley offers an excellent array of Mountain Biking trails. Enjoy an extensive network of trails in the Kimberley Nature Park - great cross country riding. NEW 2013! Our new Magic Line trail, which is accessed from the Kimberley Nordic Trails parking lot, is a great 8 km cross country loop for strong intermediate riders. The trail offers solid climbs, spectacular scenery and really fun cross country downhills

The Purcell Mountains offer some of the best hiking in British Columbia. From day hikes in the Kimberley Nature Park to multi day adventure hiking in the Purcell and Canadian Rockies, Kimberley offers easy access to an array of Hiking trails. Just up the St. Mary's Lake road is the pristine St. Mary's Alpine Park. This park offer high alpine hiking. Users should be experience with good navigational skills.

Our local rafting company, Kootenay Rafting Co. has been in operation for 10 years, floating many of the awesome rivers in the area including the St. Mary's, Elk and Skookumchuk Rivers, depending on the time of season.
